Connecting horizontally

In this video, we explain how to use Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage projects across a matrix organization. We refute the idea that ADO is only a tool for Scrum teams, emphasizing that it's a comprehensive lifecycle management tool.

We demonstrate this by adopting two different "hats": first, a project manager, and second, a member of a value stream or platform team. They show how a project manager can use a central "Project Hub" to oversee different projects and track their progress without needing to constantly check in with individual teams. We then switch perspectives, showing how the individual platform and value stream teams can manage their own work independently while still providing real-time updates that are visible to the project manager.

The key benefit highlighted is the ability to see live, connected data across different teams, including tracking dependencies and risks, all within a single tool. This allows for centralized oversight of project work, while individual teams retain the autonomy to manage their own backlogs and prioritize tasks. 

The video demonstrates how to filter views to focus on specific work items and how to use the tool to manage dependencies between tasks assigned to different teams, highlighting how ADO helps ensure that all parts of a project are progressing in a coordinated manner.
